Managing Director - Gillian Franklin
Gillian founded The Heat Group in May 2000 and since then has grown the company from five employees to a robust, well resourced company of around 100 employees, complete with its own warehouse and distribution facility. Under Gillian’s leadership both Max Factor and COVERGIRL now rank in the top five brands in the Australian cosmetic market and The Heat Group has a turnover of approximately $130 million retail sales.
Gillian previously held Managing Director and General Management positions for some of Australia’s leading consumer companies, including Creative Brands (owners of Australis and Le Tan) and Revlon. Gillian is also on the Board of the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association of Australia (CTFA), ACCORD, the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix and MTC (Melbourne Theatre Company).
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Ruth Richardson Clark
Ruth joined The Heat Group in 2009 and has a distinguished career across FMCG and professional services spanning a period in excess of 20 years.
Ruth commenced her career in the NSW Public Service, joined a small chartered accounting public practice, moved to Panel Kerr Forster as an auditor and then joined National Foods (Melbourne). After eight years with National Foods, Ruth joined ERG Group, where she was Group Financial Controller in Australia and also European Financial Controller in Brussels. Following her return to Australia in 2009 Ruth commenced with The Heat Group.
Ruth was recently selected for an interview and inclusion in a book authored by James Evangelidis, What do accounting clients really want, and was interviewed on the topic ‘What can accountants do to improve their service to you?’
Ruth is also a shareholder of The Heat Group.
HR Manager - Wendy Tansey
Wendy has achieved a degree in psychology, human resources and an MBA and started her career in social work, working with homeless young people for 10 years before moving into HR. With 16 years experience in HR Wendy has worked in a number of different industries, including the building and construction industry for seven years and in the retail and wholesale industries in fashion apparel for seven years prior to joining The Heat Group in early 2011.
Wendy believes that people are a business’ greatest asset and sees her role as developing, managing and supporting that asset while adding value to the business though building capability.
Sales & Marketing Director - Kerrie Ried
Kerrie joined The Heat Group in August 2011 and brings with her 17 years of knowledge from working in the beauty industry, with a broad range of experience from ground floor sales, training, account management, field manager to National sales director within global beauty companies.
Before joining The Heat Group, Kerrie spent seven years at Coty/Rimmel as a director, where she achieved double digit growth every year and top 5 brand ranking. Prior to this she spent five years at L’Oreal and five years at Revlon.
Having worked across all segments in personal care - cosmetics, skincare, hair, fragrances, toiletries, accessories and nails - Kerrie’s industry knowledge is unparalleled. Kerrie is also a shareholder of The Heat Group.
Supply Chain Manager - Izabela Laskowski
Following many years of experience in the industry including seven years at the Body Shop, Izabela is an expert in supply chain. Izabela joined the team in 2006 and is responsible for all aspects of supply chain at The Heat Group, including the warehousing and logistics. The tools and systems that Izabela and her team implement and manage allow The Heat Group to stay ahead of competitors and continue to provide excellent service to our retail and distributor partners. Under her leadership the supply chain team have gained recognition for The Heat Group as the highest performing supplier in its category with an industry leading ‘DIFOT’ (delivery in full on time) of around 97%.
