WOMEN GO FOR RUDD
73% of Australian women believe Kevin Rudd would be a better Prime Minister for women according to an internet poll conducted by Australia’s leading marketer to women, The Heat Group.
Only 27% of the 459 female respondents said John Howard is a better choice as PM for females.
44% of females said they would chose a PM based on whether their policies were more family friendly and a further 26% said they would prefer a PM who was up to date with women’s issues and therefore more in touch with modern day needs.
Only 20% said IR laws would impact on their vote.
Gillian Franklin, CEO of the Heat Group says the majority female choice of Mr. Rudd may be as a result of the strong female influence he has had on his life.
"Women are certainly noting his progressive attitude towards females starting from his own personal life. He has an appreciation for the challenges and struggles of modern family life and he is seen to have a head start on appropriate solutions.
"Mr. Rudd has a female deputy and seems exceptionally comfortable with strong females in leadership positions".
